PHILADELPHIA PREMIERE OF ELLIOT, A SOLDIER’S FUGUE by Quiara Alegria Hudes.

The Walnut Street Theatre continues its 2009-2010 Independence Studio on 3 season with the Philadelphia premiere of Quiara Alegria Hudes’ Pulitzer Prize finalist, Elliot, A Soldier’s Fugue.

Quiara Alegria Hudes (1993 winner) recently debuted her new musical “Barrio Grrrl!” at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. As well, her play, “26 Miles” received rave reviews in the New York Times (produced at both the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, and New Jersey Repertory Company).

Quiara’s 2008 musical, “In the Heights” is still playing on Broadway, and is featured in a national tour. “In the Heights” won the 2008 Tony Award for Best New Musical! Congratulations Quiara!
