Who can submit a play?

An individual or group of people, all under the age of 19 or attending a Greater Philadelphia region high school during time of submission.  You do NOT need a Young Playwrights Program at your school to submit.

I went through the Young Playwrights Program, how can I share my experiences?

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Quiara Alegría Hudes, a 1993 winner of the Annual Playwriting Festival, wrote the Tony-nominated book for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “In the Heights,” and was a finalist for the 2007 and 2009 Pulitzer Prizes. Ms. Hudes has returned to Young Playwrights as a board member to ensure more young people get the opportunities and rewards of the Playwriting Festival that she so well leveraged.

Is there discounted parking near the Philadelphia Young Playwrights office?

Patriot Parking Inc., the lot that takes up the block between 16th and 17th streets along Vine Street. The entrance is at 17th and Vine Streets.

The discounted rate available at this lot is $5.00 for up to four hours of parking and $8.00 maximum. In order to receive the discount, the individual will park, get a ticket and leave his or her keys with the attendant. The receptionist or security guard at United Way would then affix a sticker to the ticket denoting that the person was attending a meeting or event at United Way. The discount would be taken at the parking lot when the ticket is presented for payment.
